Making Sense of Personality Assessments

For some, it is easy to dismiss their personality assessment results or as having gained nothing from the exercise. As learning and development professionals, pushback can feel personal and contribute to our own sense of being under appreciated in our efforts. However, pushback is normal – especially if the results challenge individuals’ notions about themselves. Pushback itself does not discredit the tool or the use of the instrument itself. Whether people love or hate personality assessments, they will continue to be used.
